Please ensure all members of your party are aware of, comply to, and meet the requirements of the terms and conditions

Booking and payment

  • An email confirmation of the booking will acknowledge the acceptance of the booking. Please bring this with you on the day.
  • Please ensure your booking confirmation holds the correct information. If there are any mistakes, please let us know as soon as possible.
  • Payments are to be made in full online at time of booking or if booking has been made over the phone, payment will be due 1 week before booking.


  • Vouchers are usually valid from 12 months from the date of purchase (unless otherwise stated).
  • It is important to check that you use your voucher within the season it is valid for. Please bear in mind that we close/run limited hours during the winter months. Please check our website for availability.
  • There will be no refund for expired vouchers.
  • E-vouchers are sent by email after purchase. We advise that you print and take a copy of your voucher.
  • If you require a printed voucher sent by post, please contact us by phone or email.
  • Cancellations on voucher bookings will be required to book another slot within expiry of original voucher.
  • Vouchers are for use at Cardrona only unless otherwise stated.

Rider requirements

  • Please make sure you arrive at least 5 minutes before allocated slot. It is your responsibility to arrive on time. If you arrive late, you may not be able to participate in the experience. We will not be able to refund you under these circumstances.
  • You will be required to sign an acknowledgement of risk form and a disclaimer before you participate in the Segway experience. Adults must sign for children between the age of 12 – 15 years and make sure they fully understand the information. If you refuse to sign, you will not be allowed to participate.
  • The instructor will carry out a safety briefing that all participants must acknowledge.
  • Participants must comply with our rules and advice. If a participant does not comply, we have the right to remove them from the experience.
  • Participants must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. If suspected, you will be removed from the experience and no refund will be given.
  • Participants must be at least 12 years old and able to step on and off the Segway. You must weigh at least 7 stone and no more than 18 and a half stone.
  • You are required to wear a safety helmet, elbow and kneepads throughout the experience.
  • If you do have any medical conditions that may affect your ability on a Segway, please contact us prior to booking or consult your doctor.

You will be required to sign a medical condition form to confirm you are fit and healthy and do not suffer from any medical condition that may result in injury to yourself or others.

  • Pregnant women are advised not to take part in this experience.
  • Glasses or contact lenses must be worn if the participant has been prescribed them. To be able to participate or supervise, you must be able to see similar distances to those required to drive a car.
  • Please dress appropriately for the experience. No long, floaty dresses, coats, or high heeled, open toed or slip off shoes. We are open in all weathers, so warm clothing and waterproofs may be required! There is a high risk of getting muddy, so please choose your clothing wisely. Gloves are highly recommended on cold days and we would recommend checking the weather forecast before your arrival.
  • We will not be held responsible for loss or damage to clothing or personal items during your experience.

Acceptable behavior

  • Participants must comply with our rules and advice. If a participant does not comply, we have the right to remove them from the experience.
  • Please listen to and follow instructions from your instructor.
  • Please respect other riders and act responsibly throughout your experience. If any unsuitable behavior is shown, you will be removed from the experience without refund.
  • Please look after our equipment. Any damages caused by malicious acts, negligence or carelessness, must be paid for at the time and at current costs.

Cancellations and refunds

  • If you have to cancel your booking, please do so 48 hours before your booking time to receive a full refund. This can be done either by calling 07432662384 or emailing
  • There will be a cancellation fee of £5 per person after any booking.
  • If you cancel out with the 48 hours before your activity, you will not be entitled to a refund.
  • Border Segways has the right to cancel your booking at any time. If we do have to cancel your booking, we will contact you as soon as possible on the contact details given at time of booking, and you will receive a full refund. There may be a small transaction fee through PayPal. You will not be entitled to any other compensation.
  • If we have to cancel your experience due to severe weather or other unforeseen circumstances, we will offer you another slot available or a full refund.
  • Cancellations will not be refunded if booking by voucher. You are able to book another slot within the expiry date if you inform us at least 48 hours before cancelling your booking. £5 admin fee will apply per person.

Liability and Insurance

  • Border Segways has public liability cover of £5,000,000
  • When using a Segway, there is a risk or injury or death. To minimise risks, we will provide adequate training, but please be aware that the experience is undertaken at your own risk.
  • It is advisable to check with your own personal insurance company in advance of the experience.
  • You are in agreement that in the event of any personal injury, death, loss or damage that may occur, Border Segways will not be held responsible.
  • Accidents can happen without any contributory negligence from Border Segways or it’s staff. Border Segways can accept no responsibility for loss or damage to personal property or for personal injury not arising as a result of its own act of default.


  • We may take photos for our website and social media. Please inform at the start of your experience if you do not wish to be included in these.
  • We do not allow the use of cameras or mobile phones on the Segway.
